#TBT - Fall Inspired Gradient

Here's a lil something new here: a #ThrowbackThursday post.

I did these nails on October 7, 2013. At least that's what the date says on the picture file.

I think at the time I was using Pink Armor as a base coat. Then I used Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - Sunny Side Up for the orange and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pumpkin Spice over that.

Posting a right hand pic just so you can see Pumpkin Spice in the shade. It's gorgeous and I keep reaching for it every Fall.

I haven't done much nail art at all since I broke two nails last month. Hopefully by Thanksgiving they'll grow out enough that I can enjoy doing it again. Till next time.

#31DC2014 - Day 21: Inspired By A Color

I had to think a little about this day, because the first 10 days were all color themed and I didn't want to do any repeats. Then it hit me, pink wasn't covered during the first 10 days (which I think is actually surprising).

I decided to do pink and what could be more pink than kawaii Hello Kitty nails?

I used Wet N' Wild Mega Last - Candy-licious, Love & Beauty - Ivory, Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - Tickled Pink, Wet N' Wild Chrome - Precious Petals, Salon Perfect - Glow Pink, Sinful Colors - Decadent, and Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - Black Creme for the stamping.

I combined a couple different techniques to do these. I used my Born Pretty Store plate for the Hello Kitty images. The sticker on my ring finger was done doing decal stamping. I actually made the decal a month or two ago when I first heard about decal stamping, and it held up even in the summer heat.

Once again I used my glow in the dark base for the glitter, Glow Pink makes a pretty base anyways for Decadent.

Hello Kitty + bling + polka dots = the perfect nails to be inspired by pink.

#31DC2014 - Day 10: Gradient Nails

Today's nails are the first time I'm trying out a cotton candy gradient. These came out so cute and kawaii, they remind me to My Little Pony.

I used Love & Beauty - Ivory as a base, then did the gradient with Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - Tickled Pink and Kleancolor - Pastel Blue. I topped it all off with Santee - Moon Light Glitter and placed a few stars from it on my pointer and ring fingers.

Of course this made me crave actual cotton candy.

Look at how delicious it looks, I wanna grab it right out of my laptop monitor. Now I need to go find some.

Butterfly Wing Nails

Here's an oldie but goodie from the vault that I never posted. I think I did these probably in April of last year. I went to my cousin's birthday party and did them to match a butterfly print hi-low skirt that I wore. I remember I had JUST broke a nail and had to cut them all down.

I gotta say this is a cute design for short nails. I don't remember all the polishes in this but I do know I used Love & Beauty - Ivory for the base. I think I used this in every set of nail art that I did around this time. I still really love it, it's the perfect not quite white.

Have you ever tried butterfly nails? I think I need to try these again, especially since I just had yet another broken nail!

Subtle Mint Gradient

Hey guys! It's been a minute, I know. My "cold" turned out to be an infection and I was on two kinds of antibiotics before I started feeling better, the second of which made me feel sicker than I had felt before!

I pulled this one from the vault. I did these a few weeks ago to match my outfit. Only thing was it just wouldn't photograph well enough to show off the gradient, but when I put my nails in front of something it showed up a little. So you get bits and pieces of my shirt and jeans.

I used:
Wet N' Wild Mega Last - I Need A Refresh-Mint
Sinful Colors - Cinderella

Super subtle right? Here's an Instagram collage with my outfit. My cuz was out of town so no proper OOTD pics.

I've got some good posts coming up, including my first O.P.I. (really I didn't own any till now) and my Halloween nails and costume. As soon as I get the pics, I'll post them. Until then check out my Instagram, I toss up some quickies on there before I do full posts.

Precious Petals Gradient

So after that dark and edgy (maybe? lol) mani, I was ready for something lighter. I grabbed Wet N' Wild Chrome - Precious Petals because I wanted to see what it looked like outside of stamping. I love this polish, it might be the first polish that I pick up a backup for.

Here's one pic from inside, the rest were all taken outdoors. Gotta love the Cali sunshine. :]
Check out the bits of copper flash. This polish is so beautiful.

I used:
Wet N' Wild Chrome - Precious Petals
Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - French White Creme
Konad M63

For the record, French White Creme works for stamping too! I don't think I've ever seen anyone using it to stamp, it's always the WnW black, so I tried it. It almost comes out like a sticker and sometimes you need to push some of the edges down, but it works!

Still Believin' In Magic...

Hey guys! I'm still rockin my contest entry nails. I had some tip wear and a few chips so I covered them up with Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie. Awesome name right? Since I only did the tips, this ended up looking like a cool gradient.

If this post were a song, I'd be screaming REEEEEMIX right now. :]

That's all for now. I've got a few good ideas so I can use some of my new Wet N' Wild polishes. Hopefully I'll have the time to actually do them!

Miss DeVious DiVa Likes Rebecca Likes Nails

Hey guys, the title there pretty much speaks for itself. I've been a fan of Rebecca's nail art since Emerald Sparkled featured her on her site with her polka dot hearts mani ummm a year ago? I don't even remember haha.

I didn't really want to take off my Hunger Games mani but it started chipping and the glitter was coming off. AND I kinda HAD to enter this contest. HAD TO. Just because of the 5 themes of the contest, because I love all 5 of those too.

I based part of it off a mani that I remember Rebecca did based on a pink and silver dress she found on Pinterest. That's where that came in, and I decided to do a sideways gradient. I stamped the animal print and I did the Hello Kittys & the bows by hand with a toothpick.

Here's my left hand:

 Left thumb:

Right hand:

 Right thumb:

I used:
China Glaze - Millennium (base on pointer, middle, & pinky fingers)
Sinful Colors - Bianca (part of gradient, base on thumb & ring fingers, Hello Kitty's nose & bow)
Pure Ice - Crush (part of gradient, bow on thumb & ring fingers)
Claire's - Snow Ball (Hello Kitty's head, outline on bow)
Konad M57
Wet N' Wild Wild Shine - Black Creme (animal print stamping,  Hello Kitty's eyes & whiskers)

I hope you guys like it! It's been a rainy day out here in Cali so there wasn't any sun to take pics in. Good luck to everyone entering the contest!

Happy Hunger Games! Part 1.

Hey guys! On Friday I went to go see The Hunger Games with my cousin. Earlier this month I read the first book, gave it to my cousin, got her into it and she decided we needed to go see the movie lol. By the time the movie opened, both of us had already read all 3 books. It was so much fun! I'm glad she made plans for us to see it. I've never gone to see a movie on opening day before, and it was funny hearing all the hardcore fans screaming, ooh-ing, ahh-ing, and aww-ing throughout it.

For my mani that day, I had to go with the stand-by: flames. The book even says Katniss has flames painted on her nails. If it's good enough for Katniss & Cinna, who am I to disagree?

I added red, orange and gold glitter to make it look like sparks flying. High five if you're now singing that Taylor Swift song in your head. There's a lot of pictures, with flash and without, and even some blurred to show off the sparkles. I just loved this manicure!

I used:
Wet N' Wild - Black Creme
For the base flames: L.A. Girl  Disco Brites - Psychedelic
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Mango Motion
Sinful Colors - Ruby Ruby
For the glitter: Love and Beauty - Red
Pumpkin Polishes Orange Glitter
Santee - Copper Kiss Glitter

Part 2 coming right up! I've got a FOTD, OOTD, andddd a Hunger Games rap video? Stay tuned!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Hey guys! For St. Patty's Day I decided to do a green mani using a bunch of my green polishes. I have wayyyy to many green polishes, I actually think it's the color I have most in my collection! Last St. Patrick's Day, I went to Walgreens to pick up Sinful Colors Green Ocean while they still had the display out, cause I love flakies (who doesn't though?). Then Irish Green is so pretty, I picked that up too. Then Happy Ending is so pretty, and once I saw the name, I had to get it for the name alone! Then I saw Nail Junkie and grabbed that too. I think they were having the 99 Cent sale on Sinful Colors back then.

I wanted to do a gradient and then paint shamrocks on every nail but the gradient looked so cool that I decided to just do the thumb and an accent nail with a shamrock. I like it!

 I used:
Sinful Colors - Happy Ending
Sinful Colors - Irish Green
Sinful Colors - Green Ocean
Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie
Snowman polishes green shimmer (for the shamrocks)
